Palomino School Food Pantry:
The Food Pantry at Palomino School always needs non-perishable food items as they assist the families of the school with their food needs. Items most needed include: rice, dry pinto beans, canned tuna or chicken, canned soup, cereal, Ramen noodles, Mac and cheese, pasta and applesauce. You may bring your donations to church any Sunday morning, leaving them at the Info Booth, or to the church office during the week.
Palomino School Reading Program:
If you missed the Orientation Session for our weekly reading program at Palomino School for 2nd and 3rd grades, and would still like to participate in the reading progam, please contact Bev McClung, bevmcclung@cox.net or 480-951-8747.
Palomino School, in Greenway Square, covers a very poor and needy population. The majority of the students at this school do not speak English in their homes and thus receive minimal reading assistance at home. Many of these students have less than ideal home environments and long for adult one-on-one attention. We are asking for a minimum commitment of one hour each week, between the hours of 8:30 am and Noon on any day, Monday through Friday. The length of the commitment would be for the first semester, from the end of August until Christmas. No special training is required - just loving on children.
